In Uzbek, Tashkent means “the Stone City” and is also known as a city of striking contrasts. You will see both old and modern city. First, we begin with old part of the city: Khazrat-Imam Complex including Madrasseh Barak-Khan (XVI c.); Jami Mosque (XIX c.); Mausoleum of Kaffal-Shoshi (XV c.). Madrasseh of Kukeldash (XV c.). History of Khoresm dates so long back to ancient times that only few civilizations can equal its age.
